Unparalleled, accessible facilities and education in the print arts, The Manitoba Printmakers Association Inc. maintains the heritage of excellence in printmaking while advancing artists and innovation through technique, education and community engagement at its sustainable Martha Street Studio facility. A loading zone is located on the street at the front of the building. Martha Street Studio is an accessible space with a lift and two accessible gender-neutral washrooms located on the second floor. Last day to see Traversing the line, with no fixed point by Briana Palmer. uses various printmaking methods and mixed media to question the use and position of the railway system in national memory and history. It can be a reminder of one’s heritage, while for others it is a symbol of slavery, genocide, and colonization. In this exhibition the artist creates a fictional world with objects in constant flux of meaning and interpretation.
