NAMUMULAKLAK (To Bloom),
PLATFORM centre is thrilled to co-present a group exhibition, NAMUMULAKLAK (To Bloom), curated by Anoinette Baquiran and Charles Venzon.
This group exhibition brings together 14 emerging and established artists from Canada working with lens-based practices.
ACTIVE RESEARCH LECTURE | TBA
NAMUMULAKLAK is a Filipinx group visual art exhibition that builds on the evolving exploration of Filipinx identity in Canada. Following the exhibitions KATAUHAN (Personality, 2023) and SEREMONYA (Ceremony, 2024), which centered on self-definition and cultural practice, NAMUMULAKLAK asks: What is blooming from this foundation within our diaspora? The exhibition invites established and emerging artists to reflect on what is emerging in their personal and collective experiences— creatively, spiritually, and politically—in the context of diasporic life.
Thank you Manitoba Arts Council for the generous support.

Serious Play
"Serious Play’ is a textiles exhibition exploring the radical potential of play. “All four artists embrace a spirit of play that is neither trivial nor naïve; the kind of play that comes from relaxing into yourself, knowing your tools intimately, and trusting your hands to lead the way. These are works that seem to move, speak, laugh, and whisper. In their presence, we’re invited to imagine: are these objects simply handmade, or have they been brought to life?“ Curator, Katrina Craig
Artists: Charlotte Sigurdson, Candace Neumann, Maureen Winnicki Lyons, and Miriam Delos Santos
This exhibition is possible from the support of Canada Council for the Arts, Manitoba Arts Council and Winnipeg Arts Council.

“Icarus and Friends” @alan.adamson debut solo exhibition!
With a playful reference to old variety shows, this exhibition brings together different works under the loose lead of one painting of Icarus. Instead of following a strict theme, the artist lets the painting process guide each piece, focusing on colour, texture, and movement. Inspired by the idea of working slightly beyond comfort, the works reflect a practice that values action over overthinking. Painting quickly and often, the artist believes in staying ahead of doubt and trusting intuition. This show celebrates creative courage, curiosity, and the simple act of making, where freedom in the process becomes the true connection between the works.
