Updates March 2023:
•Our main programming,  ART TALK/ART WALK  is on a break.
Launched on July 7, 2012 it has been generously funded by the Winnipeg Arts Council and Manitoba Arts Council and sponsored by The Winnipeg Free Press & The Exchange District BIZ.

•Our member Art Galleries, studios, shops and eateries set their own protocols around health precautions (masking, distancing etc.) Many Shops and Galleries have a small or no staff and have to shut down if someone gets sick.
Please check directly with with them and respect their policies.

Stay home if you are sick- there's always next month-thanks!

HISTORY & MANDATE
First Fridays in the Exchange Inc. is an independent, non-profit, membership-based organization. We coordinate a once-a-month, year-round, arts-focused event called FIRST FRIDAYS in the EXCHANGE.
FIRST FRIDAYS in the EXCHANGE was launched on July 2, 2010.
Based on artist Sue Gordon's experience of the First Fridays event in Kansas City, she and artist Karen Schulz introduced the concept to Exchange artists, Galleries and shops, got a great response, and First Fridays is now one of Winnipeg's premier
events!

Our mandate:
First Fridays in the Exchange
is dedicated to bringing together artists, artist run centers, galleries, businesses & the public for a greater understanding, appreciation & promotion of the arts & the further development of a vital Exchange Area community.
